How to Apply

The online application system for the Summer School will open in mid-January. Applicants need to register via our homepage and then complete the application form online. Please register with an email address that you use regularly as this will be our primary method of communicating with you.

Students 18 years old and under will need to have their registration authorised by a parent/guardian in order to submit an application. We encourage students to apply themselves, rather than allowing a parent/guardian to complete the process. This is because we require detail about your educational experience that the student will know more accurately.

We ask you to specify your gender at the start of the application – this is to help us plan accommodation. The Greek Summer School works to create an inclusive environment and we welcome trans and non-binary students. If you do not identify as male or female, we would be grateful if you could indicate the gender of accommodation that would suit you best.

A deposit of £50 is required at the time of the application. This deposit is non-refundable, unless we are unable to offer a place. The balance is due by the end of May. No refunds for withdrawals can be made after July 7th (three weeks before the start of the course) or after the start of the course. If you are unable to attend because of coronavirus symptoms, a positive test or needing to self-isolate after close contact with someone who tested positive, we will refund your fees.

You will also need to give the name & contact email of an academic referee – preferably someone who is currently teaching you. Their reference helps us ensure that we offer places to those most likely to benefit, but is mainly used to ensure that students are placed in the most appropriate teaching group and helps tutors tailor work to suit their groups.

If you have any difficulties or queries, please contact the Course Secretary, via Contact Us or email directly to [email protected] .

The closing date for applications is 31st March, but earlier application is encouraged. Applications received after 31st March will be considered if there are still spaces available, but those studying Greek at school for A-level (or equivalent qualifications) are unlikely to be offered a place if they apply late. Applicants who are successful will be notified in the second half of April.

If the Summer School is oversubscribed, priority will be given to beginners and intermediate students over advanced students.
